IN CHARACTER
Name: Tyler Preman
Canon: The Imaginary Universe in Matthew/Xehalest's Head Known As The Legends Verse (title is a WIP, he says)
Canon Point: 7 years-ish after final point described in his background.
Age: 29
History: Available at his info post here.
Personality: Tyler at first glance seems a fairly simple person to get, and it's not a completely wrong assessment. He's honest and open about himself enough that it's not hard to get a more or less firm grasp of how he is.
His most obvious trait is that he's a fun, almost goofy person to be around. He's always willing to go along whatever's going in terms of entertainment, from movie nights, to bar crawling or even just smoking weed at home. More than anything, he's a very social and active person, that thrives with people that are like him. Almost paradoxically though, he's more of a loner than he lets on and most people realize. Or rather, he has some characteristics usually more associated with introverts, in that he sometimes needs or even just wants, some time alone, to himself, whether to rest and recharge from what he's just done, or just because he feels like having some piece and quiet. These moments, however, are relatively rare, and are fairly easy to miss to anyone but those that know him especially well.
He's also a lot more grounded than he initially appears. While he's often just as willing to try something probably stupid or weird as whoever suggested it, he's also the voice of reason that can't help but point out the problems with the idea that make it either impractical or just flat out impossible, often to his own disappointment, momentary. Fittingly with this, he can appear to take things far less seriously than he actually does. It's not necessarily an illusion he purposely maintains, as he's bound to show how serious he is in sometimes more or less subtle manners. He does, however, dislike panicking and fretting unnecessarily, a lot, and if he can help it, he'll avoid it. Of course, there are time where he can't keep his light mood and will be openly worried and stressed, although it's admittedly relatively easy to get him back up in better spirits.
As said above, he's a very honest person, in both the "what you see is what you get" way, and in the aversion to lies and deceit way. Most of the times, he sees little value or need to do any of those things, and if asked, he's perfectly willing to explain himself or elaborate on something. As a consequence of this, he can come across as nosy as he asks people to speak up when he can tell they're hiding something, and if he finds out they have been keeping something from him for a while, he can be very persistent in asking. He does, however, understand personal space and boundaries, so he does back off eventually, even if it takes him longer than a lot of people would like to.
While he doesn't get angry or annoyed often, when he does, he's bound to get either a little snappy or passive aggressive. As a rule, these bouts come in short bursts and depending on who was on the receiving end, he can be apologetic. In situation where he's defending himself, however, he's perfectly capable of being threatening and use intimidation tactics, a fact helped by him being able to grow fangs and claws capable of tearing a human to shreds.
Abilities/Skills:
- Heightened Senses: Werewolves have heightened senses in both human and wolf form, although obviously they're at their strongest when in wolf form. The most active of these is usually their sense of smell, strong enough to allow them to identify people and get a general sense of the emotions around them. While their other senses, such as sight and hearing, are also enhanced, taking full advantage of them requires focus and practice. Along with this, they are also, on average, much stronger and faster than the average human, and their reflexes are likewise strengthened.
- Shapeshifting: Werewolves are capable of two types of shape shifting. One is a full shift into a wolf, albeit bigger than regular wolves (Tyler is 5''1' when shifted, has glowing blue eyes). Like said above, in this state their senses are further heightened, and their bite can transfer their lycanthropy. As a rule, werewolves are perfectly capable of controlling themselves when shifted. The other shapeshifting werewolves are capable of is a partial shift into wolf, where they grow fangs and claws on their hands, as well supernaturally glowing eyes. This shift is easier to do when it's not the full moon.
- Healing Factor: As a werewolf, Tyler's body has an extremely fast metabolism, and vastly enhanced regenerative abilities. As such, non-fatal wounds heal on their own, although the time they take to heal depends on the severity of the wound. This regenerative power also means he can't get drunk or high, not through common means. The one exception to this is a strain of cannabis based on aconite, which is used to combat symptoms werewolves experience at the time immediately before the full moon.
- In a non-supernatural angle, he's also fluent in four languages: English (native language), Spanish, Hebrew (self-taught), Punjabi (self-taught).
Strengths/Weaknesses:
Strengths:
- Physical strength beyond that of humans
- Heightened senses
- Affinity towards language learning
- Immunity to most illnesses
- Also immune to most drugs and spirits
Weaknesses:
- Contact with silver can give him hives at best, fully incapacitate him at worst. Stabbing him in a vital organ, or decapitating him, with a silver weapon will also kill him.
- Full moon, or an equivalent while in space, will cause his body to start shifting into his full wolf form. While he can resist it, doing so is excruciatingly painful.
- When shifted, he's more likely to give in to his wolfish instincts. While he's been a werewolf for 17 years, and thus has a lot of experience in staying himself as a wolf, it's unknown how contact with an alien moon, or even more than one moon, might affect him.
- While unlikely to run into these, it should be noted that aconite/wolfsbane, if ingested at a high enough dosage, works as an sedative/hallucinogen for werewolves. If laced in their food for an extended period of time, it'll eventually kill him. When suffering from aconite poisoning, werewolves have a harder time controlling their powers and themselves.
Items:
- Clothes
- Cellphone
- Wallet with cash, cards, ID, etc.
- Keys
- Small plastic bag with some weed, enough for one joint

[When the feed opens, it takes a moment for Tyler to start speaking. First, he stares at the camera, chin resting on two fingers while the other three cover his mouth; when he does start speaking, he straightens up and his hand goes off screen.]
This will probably be more relevant to my roommates than to anyone else, and it's nothing I haven't told at least one person, but it's... Time for a refresher to say the least. Long story short, we're closing in on a moon, and it'll be nice and full, so I'll be shifting. The reminders, then:
[He raises his left fist and raises the thumb] One, yes, the 5 feet 1 wolf you might/will see is me.
[He raises his index finger next.] Two, no I can't speak, but yes, I can understand you. It's still me beneath all that fur, all the same sentience and personality as when I'm human. Which brings me to number three.
[And his middle finger joins the other two.] Don't... Try to treat me like a dog. I know I'm cute as a wolf, but it's awkward, feels weird, and I do have animal instincts too when I'm shifted, even I'm giving in to them. Wolves, even with the were prefix, are wild animals, and well... I'd rather not maul anyone or turn someone into a werewolf against their will.
[One other finger is raised, leaving only his little finger folded.] Four, no, I don't know how it'll last. Back home it's the three days of the full moon, here it should be however long it'll take us to get far away enough from it. Trust me, I know how annoying that is first hand.
[Another pause.]
And I think that just about covers the big things. Anything else, ask away. Remember what I told you, there'll be a quiz.
[And with a quick wink and smile to show he's not serious, he cuts the feed.]
